Apologies to Meg and any of my other non-stitchy readers for not explaining.
S.E.X. stands for Stash Enhancement eXperience.
In other words, shopping for stitchy stuff, or craft stuff, or any other kind of stuff that you call stash, usually hobby related.
The term does afford much amusement in the stitchy community, allowing you to say such things as "I had S.E.X. with the postman this morning" without your OH starting divorce proceedings, well not on the grounds of adultery anyway. Possibly on the grounds of you having just spent all the housekeeping money on bits of cloth and string, and the sure and certain knowledge that he's (or she's) going to be eating baked beans on toast for dinner until the next paycheque comes through.
